THE TEAM:

THE TECHNOLOGY

  • Serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, APIGW, Azure functions, Cosmos DB, Dynamo DB)
  • Stateless Microservices
  • Event Driven Distributed Applications (think Twelve-Factor App)
  • Elasticsearch driving dashboard and analytics front end
  • React + Redux deployed as static front end on a CDN

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will work collaboratively with others and utilize modern technologies to achieve excellence, whilst also sharing ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the squad to break down stories in to manageable tasks, and provide accurate story point estimates.
  • Develop tasks to a high quality and see them through to a finished state within a sprint, whilst providing mentoring for junior members of the squad.
  • As is the practice at Accordo, innovation and ideas are welcome, so this position will also share ideas across squads and encourage others to do the same.
  • Responsible for designing and developing both back end (NodeJS) and front end (React, Redux, Webpack) functionality.
  • All team members are also responsible for CI/CD and DevOps work relating to build, test, deploy and monitor applications and services.
  • Takes ownership of your daily workload by prioritising allocated workload.
  • Adhere to defined Accordo operations, processes and procedures, and correctly use Accordo’s internal systems.

Key Requirements:

  • Three or more years developing software in a commercial software development environment.
  • Proven ability to develop large scale, complex applications.
  • In depth knowledge of the following technologies – Frontend JS (React, Redux, Webpack), Back end (NodeJS), Unit testing, API tooling (Postman, Runscope etc)
  • Creative ideas with problem solving mindset.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise own work to meet agreed objectives.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to take direction from all levels.
  • Exhibit a high level of individual initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work with a sense of urgency, be organised and methodical.

Desirable Experience:

  • DevOps experience and knowledge of AWS (or similar): Lambda, S3, IAM, Cloudwatch, Docker, Linux, CDN configuration (varnish or similar)
  • A firm understand of oAuth 2.0 and claims based authorization
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Product Owner who is keen to take on a challenge and help us take a new cloud application to market.

We need someone that adds amazing value to our partners and creates shareholder value, someone that can convert the product strategy and roadmap into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, and then work closely with engineering and design to ensure improvements to our product are designed iteratively and delivered completely and on time. As a Product Owner, you will be a key player in the Product Team, and will partner with all areas of the business to ensure you are set up for success. If you are driven to achieve goals and deliver results, and you are data-savvy, a great communicator, and thrive in a fast-pace, then this role is for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use your commercial acumen to ensure that development teams build the right products. You will maintain and prioritise the team backlog to ensure that the outcomes maximise customer and business value.
  • Set sprint goals, write user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira, document in Confluence, and align the team’s backlog with the product strategy & vision.
  • Empower scrum teams to deliver innovative and exciting engineering solutions that will enable our business to deliver what our customers care about.
  • Establish strong relationships and manage communication between product owners, developers and QA, sales and marketing, customer support and management, and work towards continuous alignment and collaboration.
  • Attend scrum events, including planning, stand ups, retrospectives and sprint reviews (demos), and be able to lead a range of meeting formats.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field.
  • Few years Product Owner experience.
  • Passionate and committed team player.
  • Great communication skills, balances stakeholder priorities and keeps everyone in the loop.
  • Can jump between strategy and the details, and a master of both.
  • Experienced in gathering requirements and detailing a technical user story but understands the big picture and how everything fits together at a high level.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever changing environment, with many moving parts.
  • You can talk shop with engineering, or can come up to speed quickly.
