Sr. Systems Engineer

Business Unit: Technical Group
Location: Auckland, New Zealand

The Role

The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of a team that will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and support of the systems and services of the organisation.  A Senior Systems Engineer’s role may span one or more areas of expertise.  Our customers are our internal Accordo staff and ultimately all Accordo’s customers.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Sound Technical ability to support Accordo’s Servers, SAN’s, Backup and Networking infrastructure
  • Expert level of experience for the support of current Microsoft Server and its core components (Virtualisation, AD, Exchange, System Centre, SharePoint, CRM, O365 subscriptions with Hybrid Cloud and On-premises connectivity
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud based IaaS, PaaS or SaaS
  • Expert level understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (Virtual Machines, Websites, Storage Blobs, SQL Database, Virtual Network, Traffic Manager, Automation, Active Directory, CDN, Cache)
  • Expert level knowledge of Azure Site Recovery, Backups, Clustering, Load Balancing and SQL Always On, Virtual Networking, Site to Site VPN
  • Experienced working in a 24x7x365 services environment
  • Ability to manage customer escalations and work under pressure
  • Capabilities to operate in a flexible team environment with minimal supervision
  • Windows architecture and its components (Fabric, Compute, Storage)
  • Azure Platform development and deployment concepts
  • Experience with Active Directory, Security, OS Internals concepts
  • Experience with system management tools
  • Experience with Hyper-V configuration and Network administration
  • Strong Networking concepts including VIPs, NAT, DNS

Product Owner

Functional Area: Product Group
Reports to: Senior Project Manager

The Role and Responsibilities

The Product Owner works with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to   define and document business processes and functional requirements for technology initiatives.

These initiatives could relate to any product developed or managed by the Product Group but will initially be focused on the CRM tool. The Product Owner looks at the use of these products and captures requirements from the users about what additional functionality is required, and helps validate that any proposed solutions are in keeping with these requirements.

This position will work closely with the Technology Innovation Manager, the Chief Product Officer, the Senior Project Manager and other parties in the Product Group to ensure that all user requirements are being considered, as well as with the stakeholders to capture these requirements and to form a consensus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively chair a meeting, resolve disagreements, and conduct one-on-one interviews
  • Able to analyse current practices and processes in order to propose and implement improved ways of working.
